OEKO-TEX® is an internationally renowned organization for textile safety enabling users and producers to make informed, responsible decisions on the basis of clearly stipulated, transparent and up-to-date standards. This is the only way we can preserve our planet for future generations.
The internationally valid OEKO-TEX® standards have very strict threshold values for harmful chemicals. For certification, the entire production chain of textile and leather products is examined for environmentally friendly and socially acceptable production and strictly supervised.
The label STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®
The label STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is valid for one year at a time. It is one of the most well-known and most frequently used labels for textiles tested for pollutants in the world. This label stands for customer confidence and extraordinary product safety as it sets very narrow threshold values for pollutants, which are closely monitored and enforced.
How is a textile product examined to be certified?
Products certified in accordance with the globally binding label STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® aren’t only very low in harmful substances but also especially gentle to the skin. They are tested for noxious substances according to scientifically stipulated criteria, following very strict thresholds. An olfactory test and the verification of a skin-friendly pH value form part of these examinations.
This high standard guarantees that these products do not contain any harmful substances – and this is why we make absolutely sure that the textile materials we use for our self-supporting mosquito tent are in accordance with said standards.
MOSQUITO-SAFE and OEKO-TEX®
As bottom material for our self-supporting mosquito tent MOSQUITO-SAFE, we use textile material manufactured by Shaan Xi Yalan Textile Co. Ltd., the mesh comes from Fouzhou Huaguan Knitting & Spinning Co. Ltd., and the zippers are made by YKK.
All these components are certified in accordance with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® – as a product in category 1, by the way, which includes products for babies and sets the strictest regulations and thresholds of all product classes – for deep, unhindered sleep and protection from thirsty bloodsuckers that won’t cost your health.
Impregnated in accordance with ecological standards
After being impregnated with the insect repellent Repel Mosquito® by Smart Inovation® (IR 3535 – ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate), the treated components of our mosquito-protection tent are still in accordance with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® zertifiziert. The impregnation is certified in accordance with the Standard ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®.
